Jana Piazza, AMFT

Psychotherapist

(She/Her)

I bring a gentle, trauma-informed, and identity-affirming presence to my work in supporting couples, families, and individuals on their journey toward emotional well-being and fulfilling relationships. Growing up in a coastal town, my life has always been deeply connected to nature and the rhythms of the tides. As an ocean swimmer and rower, I learned early on how to respect and navigate powerful, shifting currents through patience, observation, and deep attunement to the body—lessons that directly inform my clinical work today.

This somatic awareness, paired with a long held appreciation for poetry and creativity, naturally drew me to depth psychology. I find that the most meaningful therapeutic work happens when we explore beneath the surface of immediate conflicts to explore the hidden patterns, histories, and creative undercurrents that shape how we relate to ourselves and others.

My approach blends this relational and somatic foundation with evidence-based modalities, including training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), the Gottman Method, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Whether helping couples navigate intimacy, supporting families in shifting generational patterns, or assisting individuals in moving through trauma, the goal remains the same. I strive to create a safe, compassionate space where clients can track how stress lives in the body, cultivate emotional regulation, and build the healthy, meaningful relationships they desire.
