Fees & Insurance
At Amphora, we believe therapy is an investment in your well-being and your future. We also know that the financial side matters. Here’s how our fees and insurance policies work.
Fees
Our fees range from $250–$350 per session, depending on the clinician and the type of service. Session length is typically 50 minutes.
We will discuss fees clearly at the outset, so there are no surprises. Longer sessions may be billed at a higher rate, and these details will always be agreed upon in advance.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA)
Many clients use FSA or HSA funds to pay for therapy. Check with your plan to see if this is an option for you.
Insurance
We are an out-of-network practice and do not bill insurance directly. However, many clients are able to obtain partial reimbursement from their insurance companies.
If you’d like to use your insurance, here’s how it usually works:
You pay us directly for each session.
We provide you with a monthly “superbill” (an invoice with the necessary codes).
You submit the superbill to your insurance company.
If your plan includes out-of-network coverage, your insurer reimburses you directly.
The amount you receive back depends on your plan. We encourage you to call your insurance provider and ask:
Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient psychotherapy?
What percentage of the session fee is reimbursed?
Is there a deductible I need to meet first?
How do I submit claims for reimbursement?
Why We Work This Way
Staying out-of-network allows us to:
Protect your privacy (we don’t have to share detailed personal information with insurers).
Provide the kind of therapy we believe in, without being limited by insurance company restrictions.
Tailor the length and depth of therapy to your needs, not to billing guidelines.
